Duration: 40 to 60 minutes
Rooted in the cultures of street dance and hip-hop, PAX and Lunice bring their practices into dialogue with Neurotypique’s, weaving live art, technological interactivity and improvisation into a shared artistic language. The boundaries between disciplines gradually dissolve, until they become one and the same.
Inspired by Plato’s philosophical concept of chôra — a “receptacle” where anything can come into being, a formless space where things emerge without ever acquiring a fixed identity — the work becomes a shifting space in which the performers and their environment transform one another. The body does not evolve within a predetermined architecture; rather, it creates the conditions for its own becoming.
The work unfolds across three acts, each articulating a successive state of transformation: projection, dissolution and rebirth. As the body enters into relation with the forces surrounding it, its capacity to act is redefined and the environment itself metamorphoses. CHŌRA asks what it means to act within a system that is, in turn, acting upon us.

“This work grew out of our individual and collective experiences as artists, and from the constant negotiation between instinct and expectation — between what we are compelled to create and what the world asks of us. CHŌRA embraces this in-between space, where adaptation becomes a form of intelligence and total commitment becomes an act of faith.
It is as much an aspiration as it is a performance: to express oneself with such honesty, such wholeness, that the world around us is irreversibly transformed.”
BIOGRAPHIES
Frederique Pax Dumas – Choreographer – Co-creator
PAX is a choreographer, performer, and curator whose practice emerges from the hip hop and street dance community. Recognized locally and internationally, she has presented her work through platforms including i-D, the V&A Museum, and Sadler’s Wells. Her multidisciplinary approach weaves together movement, visual arts, and digital media, with notable projects including E-MOTION with scent artist Dana El Masri and Lunice, and Liminal at the OFFTA Festival. Committed to the growth of street dance through both creation and transmission, she founded A.MUSE, HYBRID(X), and Free Form Lab.
Lunice Fermin Pierre II – Composer – Co-Creator
Lunice Fermin Pierre II is a Montréal-born artist working in sound, technology, and interdisciplinary creation with roots in breakdance. His practice merges sound, movement, and space through works including E-MOTION, combining sound, scent, and choreography with artist Dana El Masri and choreographer PAX, and an award-winning collaboration with Cirque du Soleil. His contribution to Kanye West’s Yeezus earned a Grammy nomination. Liminal, part of the Metamorphosis anthology with PAX, was presented at OFFTA. Solo performances at MoMA PS1, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, MoPOP, Centre Phi, Faena Forum during Art Basel Miami, and MUTEK with Moment Factory.
Sebastien Mercier – Audio Visual Artist – Co-creator
Sébastien Mercier, known as Neurotypique, is a Paris-based audiovisual artist, creative technologist, and graphic designer working at the intersection of sound, image, and immersive environments. His practice centers on live audiovisual performance and real-time visual creation, with works presented at venues including Gaîté Lyrique, Ircam, Bercy, and Zénith Paris. Collaborative projects include live performances with Ela Minus for ARTE Concert and with Canblaster at Grand Palais Immersif (2025). He has contributed commissioned work for Nissan, Hoka, Ikea and Nike among others, teaches interactive art courses online, and is a founding member of the RICO collective dedicated to modular synthesizer culture.
